    Description

    Up for consideration today is an Antique City of Quincy 1907 Compete Set of Atlas Maps!!!
    This complete set of atlas maps of the city of Quincy Massachusetts, Norfolk County, 1907 by Ernest W. Branch Civil Engineer.
    There are 30 maps total plus the title page, Atlas cover page and cover page from Power Company
    This set of maps were presented by the Quincy Electric and Power Co. on Dec. 31, 1912 to the City of Quincy for the confirmation of utility pole locations by Peter Lawton civil engineer for the power company to supply electricity to Quincy residents!!! A historic moment in Quincy History.
    The Quincy Electric Light and Power Company Station is
    a historic power station
    at 76 Field Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. Built in 1902, it is a well-preserved example of industrial Colonial Revival architecture executed in brick. It housed a coal-fired plant until 1920, and now serves as a local power substation. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
    There is a cover sheet with the proposal from the power company by Perry Lawton Civil Engineer and a letter to the city signed and dated by the city clerk
    Each map was marked by the engineer with a small red dot indicating where a pole would be located.
    All maps have excellent details of streets with lot sizes and owner names, railroads Etc.
    Maps measure 32.5" wide X 22.5" high. Perfect for framing!! This set also has the original portfolio.
