Material used to make the adapter shaft is 4140 Alloy (heat treated) steel. This will make the driver end nearly indestructible and eliminate any twisting or bending due to it's added length. Our adapters have a heavy black oxide finish to help prevent rusting. The bearing housing contains a sealed bearing, snap ring and vitron seals on both sides to keep out moisture. The added power tool handle gives you complete control with both hands when drilling through the ice. We have updated the handle to add needed strength and made it longer for protection from dropping into hole. The handle is 6061 aircraft aluminum W/ steel stud inserted in the end. As you can see in the photos, length has been added to give you the upright position needed for comfort and not on your knees when drilling through thick ice.
