Velocomp PowerPod v4 ANT+/BLE Power Meter
The PowerPod, made by Velocomp, isn’t your ordinary power meter. Unlike more traditional power meters that attach to your drivetrain (crank, crank arm or hubs) or pedals and measure your power using strain gauges, the PowerPod power meter attaches to your handlebars and measures your power through wind measurement. More specifically, the PowerPod uses an accelerometer, a wind pressure sensor, an elevation sensor and a speed sensor – all to measure your power.
PowerPod’s accuracy is on par with the more expensive, traditional type power meters. In addition, the benefits to this type of power meter are numerous. Compared to a more traditional power meter, the PowerPod power meter is much easier to move between bikes, there are no compatibility issues, it’s simple to set up, you don’t have to change out any of your prized components, and perhaps best of all, it’s one of the most affordable power meters on the market.
The PowerPod works on road bikes and mountain bikes and transmits power data via the ANT+ and Bluetooth SMART wireless protocols.
Combo Garmin/PowerPod TT Mount
The machined-aluminum combo mount for TT bikes places your PowerPod and Garmin together in the perfect position to get best performance from both. The Combo TT mount is incredibly strong, and its unique swivel design allows you to rotate the mount to align your Garmin and power meter perfectly on your bike, even if your aero bars are angled. Also, the Combo TT mount design is compatible with other accessories using the GoPro mounting system.
